| We place an 8-inch I-beam and a 3-inch steel beam on top of the frame for strength and to provide larger, easier-to-access basement storage space. We then run 2x3-inch steel tube cross members and 2x6 inch steel tube perimeter rails to create a firm foundation for the coach. | We retained the factory-installed, air-like jounce bumpers and shock absorbers that connect the cab to the frame. So you'll enjoy a smoother ride. (The competition removes them and hard fastens the cab to the frame with rigid steel.) | To ensure ease of maintenance and the best protection from cold weather, we route all fresh water plumbing above the floor but out of sight. | The walls, floor and ceiling are insulated to keep everyone more comfortable — cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. And the insulation also reduces road noise when inside the coach. | The flooring includes an aluminum sheet vapor wall on which we add a layer of insulation followed by hefty 3/4-inch plywood sheet with tongue-and-groove plywood — a Haulmark exclusive. There are no butt-end joints to pop up or wrinkle, assuring a flat, even floor. | The entry steps are made from solid steel and welded to the frame. So they are incredibly sturdy — with no bouncing or wobbling like some RV steps. They are vinyl covered to reduce the tracking of dirt into the motorcoach and there is storage underneath. | Baggage compartments consist of a sturdy steel box that's lighted for increased visibility. | We cut away a portion of the cab roof to create full-height walk-through access between the cab and the coach.
